What are the benefits of using Spark Assistant? When is the best scenario to use it? How/where do I download it?

Spark Assistant lets you connect Excel files to Spark without having to go through the browser. You can do the following all from Spark Assistant:

  • Upload your model directly to Spark from within Excel
  • Compare your Excel file to existing versions of your model in Spark
  • Check for warnings and errors prior to uploading
  • Use the xCall feature to make API calls to a Spark service from Excel
  • Much more!

The Spark Assistant makes interacting between Spark and Excel much easier and more streamlined. Spark Assistant also enables the use of the xCall feature. 

Spark Assistant is quick and easy to download from the Microsoft AppSource Marketplace. All you need to do is:

  1. Open the Insert tab in Excel
  2. Click Get Add-ins
  3. Search Spark Assistant and click Add

 

Once you’re in the app, click Getting Started and log in to your Spark tenant.

 

If your organization doesn’t have access to the marketplace, you can also perform an install using a manifest file provided by Coherent.
